Spotify Will Show AI Tags in Song Credits When Artists Provide Such Information

Spotify has announced a new feature called AI Credits that will tag music that was created with AI. The tag will be found in the “song credits” section, and as of now, will only appear if the artist chooses to share that information.

• AI-generated music is becoming more prevalent and more realistic. Spotify highlighting when AI is used demonstrates how the industry is responding to pressure surrounding the new technology.

The details:

• The feature is currently in beta and only viewable on mobile.

• It will go into which elements of a track were specifically made with AI, such as lyrics, vocals, instrumentals, and production.

• The feature will not denote if the entire track is AI-generated.

• Popular distributor Distrokid first received access to the feature. Users of the service could note which parts of their tracks are AI.
