Spotify Announces ChatGPT Integration
Spotify users will be able to engage the AI platform for personalized recommendations
Spotify has announced its new integration with ChatGPT. As of today, both Spotify Free and Spotify Premium users can link their accounts to ChatGPT to converse with the AI platform about music, podcasts, audiobooks, and playlists.
How it works:
Log in to ChatGPT and write “Spotify” in the text prompt. On first mention, the option to link a Spotify account to the ChatGPT account will appear.
From there, users can ask ChatGPT for new recommendations based on any prompt, including genres, moods, and what’s popular.
These recommendations will be based on the entirety of stored information in the ChatGPT account, highly customizing the offerings.
Tapping a track ChatGPT recommends will open Spotify and immediately begin playing it in the app.
Free users will only be able to get recommendations from Spotify-curated playlists pre-loaded into the app, such as Discover Weekly and New Music Friday.
Users can connect or disconnect Spotify from ChatGPT at any time.
In a statement, Spotify said it will not “share music, podcasts, or any other audio or video content on our platform with OpenAI for training purposes.”
The integration is available in 145 countries across ChatGPT Free, Plus, and Pro accounts on web and mobile.
