Shane Knotts Upped to SVP, Global Royalties at Sony Music Publishing

Sony Music Publishing (SMP) has promoted Shane Knotts to Senior Vice President, Global Royalties, effective immediately.

The role:

• Knotts will continue to lead the company’s Global Royalty Center.

• He will expand his focus on enhancing data accuracy, advancing royalty matching through AI and machine learning, and strengthening systems to support the long-term growth of the company and its songwriters.

• He is based in SMP’s Nashville office, and will continue to report to EVP, Worldwide Administration, Dale Esworthy.

Backstory:

• Knott joined the company in 1994 as Royalty Manager.

• Most recently he served as Vice President, Global Royalties.
