


Sabrina Carpenter to Hit the Big Screen in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Musical
The ‘Espresso’ singer will star in and produce the Universal vehicle
Sabrina Carpenter will star in and produce a movie musical based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland for Universal Pictures. The movie is currently untitled.
The role:
As per The Hollywood Reporter, this is a passion project for Carpenter.
She is said to have approached the studio last year with ideas and a lookbook.
Variety reports that Netflix acquired a pitch for an Alice in Wonderland musical from Carpenter’s At Last Productions company in 2020, though the project never came to fruition.
The players:
Lorene Scafaria (Jennifer Lopez’s Hustlers) will write and direct.
Marc Platt, who produced the Broadway and screen productions of Wicked, will produce.
Also producing will be Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton of Alloy Entertainment (Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars).
