José Feliciano
Reservoir Media has acquired the rights to the recorded music catalog of songwriter and performer José Feliciano. The deal also includes non-exclusive rights to his name, image, and likeness. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Why it matters:
Feliciano is recognized as the first Latin artist to cross over into mainstream Anglo-American pop.
His catalog includes “Feliz Navidad,” one of the most-played holiday songs in the world.
He also wrote and performed the theme to the TV series Chico and the Man, as well as other works such as “Rain,” “Affirmation,” and “Let’s Find Each Other Tonight.”
Across his six-decade career Feliciano has released more than 60 albums, accumulated multiple GRAMMY Awards, and collaborated with artists including John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, and Bill Withers.
Recent deals:
Reservoir’s partnership with Feliciano comes days after announcing its acquisition of jazz composer Billy Strayhorn’s publishing catalog.
The company has focused on expanding its portfolio of Latin music in 2026, striking a joint venture with Latin music company TU Publishing in June, and acquiring the catalog of independent label Nacional Records in July.
What they said:
Donna Caseine, Reservoir Executive Vice President, Global Creative Director: “José Feliciano’s incredible gift extends far beyond the accomplished hit ‘Feliz Navidad.’ His catalog is extensive, with countless bilingual recordings that helped popularize Latin music with a global audience. José’s legacy is a credit to the high-quality, popular music he has written and shared with the world for over half a century, and it’s an honor to champion José and his body of work at Reservoir.”
