Anthem Music Publishing has acquired the catalog of country singer-songwriter Marty Robbins, who passed away in 1982.
The details:
The deal includes more than 500 songs released across 72 albums in a career that spanned from the late 1940s to the early 1980s.
It includes hits such as “Big Iron” (Top 5 on the 1960 US Country chart); Grammy-winning, Billboard Number 1 single “El Paso”; and “My Woman, My Woman, My Wife,” the US Country Chart Number 1 for which he earned a second Grammy in 1970.
The financials of the deal have not been disclosed.
Anthem also recently acquired the catalogs of songwriter Matt Alderman, Puerto Rican rapper Darell and singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk.
Robbins’ accolades:
He was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998.
He has also been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The Academy of Country Music named Robbins its first Artist of the Decade for the 1960s.
