Ivan Chen Steps in as BandLab Technologies CEO

BandLab Technologies, the music technology company that owns BandLab, Cakewalk, and ReverbNation, among others, has announced a shakeup at the top of the company. Former President Ivan Chen has been appointed CEO, and Meng Ru Kuok will transition into an Executive Chairman position.

The details:

• Chen will take over day-to-day operations beginning October 1.

• Kuok will continue to consult on “long-term strategy, major partnerships, opportunities, and investment priorities.”

Background:

• Kuok has been Chairman and CEO of BandLab since co-founding the company in 2015.

• Chen came on as Chief Operating Officer in 2016. He was promoted to President in 2024.

• Kuok will continue as Group CEO of BandLab’s parent company, Caldecott Music Group. Chen remains Group President at Caldecott.
