Guitarist Says Radiohead Will Stage 20 Shows Per Year Across Continents

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien outlined plans for the band’s future touring schedule.

The strategy:

• O’Brien told the magazine that Radiohead would play 20 shows a year, with each year focusing on a different continent.

• “No more, no less,” he said.

• Variety states that the plan will kick into action in 2027, and eventually cover North and South America, as well as Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

• The band embraced this strategy in 2025 when they played 20 shows across Europe.

• O’Brien is currently promoting his new solo album, Blue Morpho.

We’d look at one another on that stage, like, ‘This is amazing.’ I feel like I’m the luckiest person on the planet, and I’m not just saying that. We want to give absolutely everything each night. We do not ever want it to be like we’re going through the motions or we’re having to run on empty. We’ve got to be able to do it. And you know what? We’re not spring chickens anymore.”
