BMG Global Music Publishing President Jim Selby Elected to ASCAP Board of Directors

Jim Selby, President of Global Music Publishing at BMG, has been elected to the board of directors for the performance rights organization, ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). He will be a publisher member, while other members come from the songwriting and composing spheres.

Background:

• ASCAP is the only American PRO that has a member-elected board.

• Selby entered his role at BMG following the merger with Concord.

• Prior to that, he was Chief Publishing Officer at Concord.

• Throughout the merger, he unified publishing operations in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.

• Selby also previously served as chairman of the board for the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM).
