Believe UK and Tileyard Launch Tenace Records
Pale Waves announced as debut signing
Believe UK and Tileyard Music have teamed to launch boutique, frontline label Tenace Records.
The personnel:
Tileyard Music founders Charlie Arme and Michael Harwood are spearheading the new venture.
They’ve appointed former Universal Music Marketing Director Chris Dashwood as General Manager of Tenace Records. He will also lead the marketing team.
Isabella Evans joins as Product Manager.
Cathy Mathalone will head up the A&R team, which will feature Kirsty Twiner, Tashai Jackson, Agapi Melkonian and Abbie Humphries.
The focus:
As per its press release, Tenace will focus predominantly on new signings and releases with global digital and physical distribution.
It will draw on the global reach of Believe’s and Tileyard Music’s A&R teams.
It will also have “unrivaled access” to the artists, writers and operators in Tileyard London’s recording studio and creative hub.
First signing:
Manchester guitar-pop band Pale Waves are Tenace Records’ first signing.
They have released four studio albums to date, and will support Louis Tomlinson on his 26-date European arena tour in March.
What they said:
Paul Trueman, Director of Artist Services at Believe UK: “The Tileyard Music team has an outstanding track record of nurturing creative talent and this partnership brings together their deep industry experience with Believe’s global infrastructure and best-in-class tech and tools. Tenace Records represents a powerful and forward-thinking addition to the UK label landscape and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the Believe family.”
