Barry Weiss’ RECORDS Promotes Two Senior Executives

RECORDS, the label launched by Barry Weiss in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, has promoted senior executives Andrew Saltman and Sara Gil.

Andrew Saltman:

• Saltman moves from Vice President of Marketing and Digital Strategies to Senior Vice President, Artist Development.

• He will oversee a department combining marketing and digital teams across RECORDS and its country imprint, RECORDS Nashville.

Sara Gil:

• In her new role as General Manager Gil will oversee operations for both labels across the New York and Nashville offices.

• She will handle deal negotiations for new artist signings, budget allocations and strategic release planning alongside Saltman, as per Music Business Worldwide.

Backstory:

• Weiss, the former head of Universal Music Group’s East Coast labels and veteran Jive Records executive, launched RECORDS in 2015 in partnership with SONGS Music Publishing.

• Its roster includes Slayyyter, Noah Cyrus, Nelly, 24kGoldn and Lennon Stella.

• RECORDS Nashville opened in 2020, and is home to George Birge, Emily Ann Roberts and Ty Myers.
