Nancy Matalon
Bamboo Publishing, the publishing arm of European independent music company Bamboo Artists, has announced a “comprehensive” strategic realignment. Key to the move is the appointment of publishing veteran and GRAMMY Board member Nancy Matalon as Head of US Publishing.
Strategic shift:
The company says Matalon will lead Bamboo’s US publishing activities while facilitating stronger creative collaboration between Berlin and Los Angeles.
This is in line with Bamboo Publishing’s strategic shift toward what it calls a “creativity first” philosophy, which entails greater focus on creative development, global sessions, placements, and international writer collaborations.
Backstory:
Matalon was previously Vice President and Head of A&R US at Spirit Music Group.
She has worked closely with artists and producers such as Tricky Stewart, Autumn Rowe, Michael Jackson, Fergie, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend and more.
What they said:
Nancy Matalon: “As Head of US Publishing for Bamboo, my goal is to build a true creative bridge between Europe and the United States. Bamboo has created incredible momentum in Germany and across Europe. We now want to combine that energy with US-based talent, sessions, and collaborations to create greater exposure and opportunity across the entire roster.”
