TIDAL Announces New Upload Feature for Indie Artists
The streamer is also offering creators the chance to win $100,000
TIDAL has unveiled a new feature called Upload, which allows independent artists to upload their music to the service directly.
What it means:
Artists can upload up to 200 original tracks straight to the platform.
Once uploaded, the songs are available to stream alongside the rest of TIDAL’s catalog.
Artists can keep songs unpublished if they want to share early drafts with their team.
The feature is free for all US artists over the age of 18. No paid TIDAL account is needed.
No royalties:
Upload tracks will not receive royalties.
However, TIDAL has launched a weekly spotlight program, in which the platform’s editors select Upload songs to spotlight on playlists and the homepage, with the chosen artists receiving $100 in their Cash App account for every day they’re featured.
The platform has also announced the Upload Headliners contest, in which 10 artists who have uploaded original tracks will each be eligible to receive $100,000.
