Streaming and Download Platform Qobuz Rolls Out App for Android TV
It brings its full catalog and editorial experience to the TV screen
France-headquartered high-quality music streaming and download platform Qobuz has launched its android TV app, which is available on the Google Play Store.
What it means:
Qobuz’s entire music catalog, including playlists, albums, editorially curated selections and more, is now available to stream directly on TV.
All music is available in lossless, CD, and hi-res quality.
The interface has been optimized for navigation on a large screen.
The Qobuz Connect feature lets users control playback from their smartphone or tablet while the TV plays the audio.
The app works across all TVs and devices running Google TV, or older Android TV devices.
Why it matters:
Rivals such as Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal already have native TV apps, so this reduces that competitive advantage.
What they said:
Axel Destagnol, Chief Product Officer at Qobuz: “Our users have been asking us for Android TV for a long time. This app embodies our desire to be accessible wherever people listen to music, from headphones to the living room, while preserving what makes Qobuz unique: audio quality and editorial richness.”
