Red Bull Records to Cease Operations
The label will be officially shutting down after 18 years in business
Red Bull Records has confirmed it is shutting down. The label first opened in 2007 and has released music from Blxst, AWOLNATION, and Twin Atlantic.
Background:
Red Bull Records was launched by Dietrich Mateschitz, Founder of Red Bull GmbH, which oversees all of Red Bull's activities, including energy drink sales and its F1 team.
Managing Director Greg Hammer ran the label, and Sony’s The Orchard was its distributor.
The label has sprouted multiple imprints, such as Blxst’s EVGLE and WondaGurl’s Wonderchild.
The label also had a publishing wing that represented Eric Aukstikalnis, Charlie Shuffler, LordQuest, Kofi, Caleb Shomo, and Aaron Bruno.
Red Bull Records is the company’s latest music venture to fold. In 2019, Red Bull Music Academy and Red Bull Radio shuttered as well.
What they said:
Red Bull: “After 18 years of operation, Red Bull Records globally will be winding down by the close of the year.”
