Recording Academy Adds 3,800 Members

The Recording Academy has expanded its pool of qualified voters ahead of the 2026 GRAMMY Awards on February 1.

New class:

• More than 3,800 members who are actively working in the music industry have been invited to join the Academy as part of its 2025 New Member Class.

• Invitations were, for the first time, also extended to all Latin Recording Academy voters.

• The Academy has revealed that 50% of the accepted class are 39 years of age and under, 58% are people of color, and 35% are women.

• As per Variety, Recording Academy membership consists of voting membership for recording creators, and professional membership for music business professionals.

• Nominations for the 2026 GRAMMY Awards will be announced on November 7 at 11am ET.
