Laura Segura Appointed Executive Director of She Is The Music

She Is The Music (SITM), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and empowering women working in the music industry, has named Laura Segura as Executive Director. In her new role, Segura will lead the organization’s global partnerships and programs.

• Segura will oversee SITM activities, including all-women songwriting camps, partnerships with major industry companies, and advocacy efforts.

• She will be in charge of the organization’s global database of women creators and will develop more opportunities to connect emerging professionals with opportunities within the industry.

• At MusiCares, Segura spearheaded massive relief efforts for musicians.

• She oversaw the distribution of $35.7 million during the pandemic and $16 million following the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.

• She was a key figure in the Humans of Hip Hop grant program and the annual Wellness in Music research project.
