Believe Announces New Publishing Arm: Believe Music Publishing
This addition to the company will expand upon Believe’s current publishing services
Believe, the Paris-based music company, has launched a new dedicated publishing unit, Believe Music Publishing. This expansion comes after Believe acquired the independent publishing company, Sentric Music Group, in 2023.
Believe’s publishing landscape:
Believe Music Publishing gives artists access to 160 publishing experts in fields such as creative, sync, and revenue optimization.
Sentric’s partners, such as Cooking Vinyl Publishing, Source Audio, and Rough Trade Publishing, will remain in Believe’s network.
Songwriters represented by Believe, which include Djo, Sammy Virji, and Enter Shikari, earned digital revenue 13 points above the market in 2024.
The Sentric infrastructure will continue handling administration for self-published songwriters.
TuneCore, another Believe subsidiary, will also continue to oversee publishing administration for its users.
Believe Music Publishing staff:
Chris Meehan has been named Believe’s CEO of Publishing. He founded Sentric in 2006 and joined Believe upon the acquisition.
Ismaël Kané is Believe’s Head of Publishing, France, after leading BlueSky’s publishing operations in France.
Alexandra Ziem, former Director of Creative at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, is Head of Publishing for Believe in Germany.
Sunil Gursahani will serve as Head of Believe Music Publishing in India and South Asia following his experience in publishing and licensing at Tips Music.
What they said:
Meehan: "It has been an incredible journey and honor to build the foundations and see the first exceptional results of Believe’s publishing business, since its acquisition of Sentric. I am convinced that our unique model, expert teams, innovative approach with our CMO and DSP partners, as well as our industry-leading technology, will lead Believe to consolidate its position as a key global publishing player in the years to come."
Denis Ladegaillerie, Founder & CEO, Believe: “The launch of Believe Music Publishing consolidates Believe’s position as an integrated global music company. With digital now being the biggest driver of collections for creators, and the publishing market exceeding €4 billion after a decade of double-digit growth¹, we are uniquely positioned to lead the evolving publishing market, where growth continues to be increasingly driven by digital, with a publishing arm that now matches and complements our leadership in recording."
