Bamboo Artists Appoints Rehan Manickam Director of A&R, US
The Germany headquartered company is expanding its North American presence
Rehan Manickam has been appointed Director of A&R, US, at Bamboo Artists. He will be based in LA and oversee artist signings, development pipelines, and cross-territory.
Backstory:
Prior to Bamboo, Manickam held A&R positions at LEGION Management and Anomaly Publishing, working with artists such as Nija Charles, Jack Rochon, and LU Kala.
Previously he was an engineer and A&R coordinator at Love Renaissance (LVRN), contributing to major R&B projects such as Summer Walker’s “Still Over It” and “No Love (Extended)” featuring SZA and Cardi B.
The company:
Bamboo Artists was founded (and continues to be led) by CEO Leander Kirschner when he was 17-years-old.
The German company represents 32 artists and 47 songwriters, including Ski Aggu, 01099 and Zartmann.
It claims its catalog generates more than three billion streams annually and more than 80 million streams a week.
Bamboo recently made a series of US hires to grow its presence in North America, with Nils Gums appointed General Manager, Christina Chung Publishing A&R, and Kareem Yafi A&R Manager.
What they said:
Rehan Manickam: “The industry’s obsessed with velocity and volume, not vision. At Bamboo, my focus is returning to real A&R: instinct, curation, and systemic artist development that outlasts the algorithm.”
